Barracuda Networks has launched Threatglass, an online tool for obtaining and analyzing information on Web-based malware and sharing this threat intelligence with other concerned parties.
A press statement by the Campbell, California-based provider of cloud-connected security and storage solutions said Threatglass enables users to graphically browse Website infections.
This it does by enabling them to view screenshots of stages of infection as well as by analyzing network characteristics such as host relationships and packet captures.
Casual Users, Researchers
The press statement said Threatglass had been designed for both casual users and serious researchers.
It added Threatglass had been built as a frontend for a large-scale automated system that leverages heavyweight virtualisation to detect Web-based malware in a vulnerability and exploit-independent manner.
The portal analyses millions of Websites weekly with these sites sourced from multiple data feeds.
Some sources include Alexa Top 25,000 Websites, social feeds and suspicious sites from Barracuda's customer network.
Around 150,000 organisations make up this network.
