If you're using a smartphone with just one screen, then you might feel that it's somewhat inadequate. Yota says the YotaPhone is "the first 'always-on' premium Android smartphone with a liquid crystal display on one side and an electronic paper display on the other".
Yes, you did read that correctly. The Yotaphone has a regular LCD screen on the front and a second e-ink display on the back. Because the second screen is e-ink, it can display information without consuming battery. It can display notifications, emails, tweets, and other information - not just books.
Yotaphone release date
If you're thinking about getting your hands on the Yotaphone then here's what you need to know.
The device went on sale yesterday (4 December) in Russia, Austria, France, Spain and Germany. It will then be available in 15 other countries including the UK by the end of the first quarter next year. In the UK it will only be available from the Yotaphone online shop.
Yota has confirmed that in Europe the Yotaphone will retail for 499. There's no UK sterling price yet but we'll let you know as soon as we find out.
If you're keen you can head to the Yotaphone website and 'pre-order', which at the moment means signing up to be informed when the device is available.
