F.Y. Teng | Jan. 11, 2013
Company executives say they have signed up DFS Group, and intend to grow their Asia-Pacific business further.

Specialised mobile device security and management (MDM) systems maker AirWatch announced on Thursday (January 10, 2013) its intention to expand globally, "with growth in Singapore to meet the increasing demand in the Asia-Pacific region for [its] AirWatch Enterprise Mobility Management, EMM, solution."

The President and CEO of AirWatch John Marshall said, "Singapore is a critical mobility hub globally, and our aggressive growth in the region is a response to the large demand for scalable content, application and device management."

The company's executives also cited the DFS Group as a key customer of theirs moving forward. The Singapore-based retailer uses the AirWatch MDM and AirWatch Secure Email Gateway (SEG) in the management of its mobile devices.

"As the world's number one luxury retailer to the international traveler, our priority is customer satisfaction, and mobility helps us achieve that goal. With more than 7,000 employees worldwide, it is imperative that our mobile retail platform and corporate communications are streamlined, efficient and secure, so that we can better serve the customer," said Senior VP of the DFS Group Jennifer MacIvor. "AirWatch ensures our workforce can engage through their mobile devices, while operating in a safe environment."
