Sharp is launching three smartphones in Singapore, which will be distributed by Brightstar Corp., the world's largest specialised wireless distributor, announced the Japanese mobile handset manufacturer today.

The models being launched are SH530U, SH631W and SH837W. These are Android-based devices with a unique user-interface, FEEL UX, which has been customised to simplify daily tasks such as texting, surfing the Web, and accessing social media platforms, contacts and shortcuts, the company said in a statement.

The phone company claimed that the FEEL UX Welcome Screen enables fast access to the latest weather, stock information, time and immediate notifications for missed calls and unread messages.

All three devices are non-slip, anti-sweat and sport ultra-thin designs and they will launch with Android 4.0, said Sharp in the statement.

The SH530U, which is a dual-SIM smartphone that keeps two separate SIM cards active at all times, will be launching on 20 October at a recommended retail price of S$488. The 4.5" HD SH631W and the 4.7" HD SH837W will be made available in November and December respectively. Prices of these handsets will be announced closer to the launch dates, the company said.

Singapore is the third market after Hong Kong and Malaysia to launch SH530U and the first market in the region to announce SH631W and SH837W.
