Samsung brings Knox to fortify the BYOD experience

Zafar Anjum | March 22, 2013
KNOX-enabled Galaxy devices will be available in the market from the second quarter (Q2) of 2013.

With BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) increasingly becoming mainstream, Samsung is boosting IT managers' confidence in mobile security with the launch of Samsung KNOX in Singapore.

While announcing the launch of Samsung's Enterprise Experience Centre in Singapore yesterday, Samsung Singapore MD Harry Lee also announced the "in market" availability of KNOX in Singapore.

Samsung had launched KNOX globally sometime ago but this was the first time the electronics giant was introducing the solution to the Singapore market.

Samsung KNOX addresses security concerns around the use of smartphones in the workplace by providing the comprehensive security and confidentiality of data that enterprises require in a hassle-free, simple and intuitive experience, said Lee.

This is the industry's first truly secure and efficient mobile solution for work and play on the Android platform, he said.

KNOX-enabled Galaxy devices will be available in the market from the second quarter (Q2) of this year, said Stanley Goh, COO, Samsung Singapore.

SAFE programme

In addition to KNOX, Samsung also launched the SAFE programme - Samsung For Enterprise.

According to Thomas Young, director, B2B Business, Samsung Singapore, SAFE ensures that Samsung's Android devices work on a wide range of certified security solutions provided by Samsung's partners, and meets the highest security needs of any corporate IT environment.

Samsung SAFE will be made available to all partners beginning the second quarter of 2013.
