PlayBook makes Singapore debut on 23 June

Tablet to be available in three wi-fi models.

The BlackBerry PlayBook tablet will be available in Singapore on 23rd June 2011 onwards from telcos SingTel, M1, and Starhub, as well as a number of nation-wide retail stores, Research In Motion (RIM) announced on Monday (20 June).

The tablet will be available in three wi-fi models, featuring 16 GB, 32 GB or 64 GB of memory storage at the following recommended retail price (RRP):

16GB: S$668/US$539 (inclusive of GST)

32GB: S$798/US$644 (inclusive of GST)

64GB: S$928/US$748 (inclusive of GST)

According to a press statement by RIM, customers can place orders for the tablet starting today. The full list of retailers offering customers the ability to preorder is available online at http://sg.blackberry.com/playbook/wheretobuy.

"With a growing number of stores across Singapore featuring the BlackBerry PlayBook, we welcome customers to try it out for themselves," he said.

The BlackBerry PlayBook features an ultra-portable design (425g) and delivers industry leading performance (1 GHz dual-core processor), Web browsing with support for Adobe Flash Player, true multitasking, HD multimedia (1080p HDMI output), advanced security features, out-of-the-box enterprise support and a robust development environment.
