iPhone 6s display teardown reveals how 3D Touch sensors actually work

The folks at iFixit opened up a new iPhone 6s to find out how Apple implemented the 3D Touch technology.

As our colleague Michael Simon wrote when the 6s first came out, “Apple uses its S models to innovate inwardly, focusing its efforts on carving out a strong foundation for the future of its mobile ecosystem and letting the user experience trump the design.”

This teardown shows that even though you probably can’t tell an iPhone 6 and 6s apart, there’s more than meets the eye below the surface.
