Inmarsat Plc. Is now operating in China following its having opened recently its first office there in Beijing, according to a press statement by the London, UK-based satellite communications vendor. It said the start of its operations is the result of its more than three decades-long in the business and having close partnerships with partners in China, primarily the Beijing Marine Communication and Navigation Co. (MCN).
According to company representatives, Inmarsat has provided communications services through partners to large Chinese multinational firms such as Air China, China Shipping Container Lines and China Central Television.
They added that the vendor's establishment of a China office comes hot on the heels of its partner MCN's recent opening of a Satellite Access Station (SAS) in Beijing, which will exclusively handle all traffic from China over the Inmarsat network.
