PT Bank Tabungan Pensiunan Nasional Tbk. (BTPN) has tapped on Finastra to deliver its Jenius mobile banking application in Indonesia.

The move aims to "enable its customers to complete basic banking processes [securely via the app,] without going to the branch," said Peterjan van Nieuwenhuizen, head of digital banking at BTPN.

The bank integrated Finastra's FusionBanking Essence Digital platform with BTPN's existing Finastra FusionBanking Equation core banking system.

The platform not only removes complex banking processes, but also enables the bank to personalise its customers' digital experience on Jenius.

Additionally, the platform allows BTPN's Jenius to attract better-priced funding and more deposits from a new market segment, as well as bring products to market faster. According to the company, modern software architecture has enabled it to quickly transform digital solutions into powerful sales engines and increase revenue opportunities.

"With an expanding middle-class and growing mobile internet use here, we saw the significant opportunity this creates for financial services. Our customers look to us for innovation and fast, efficient services. The Finastra solution helps us deliver on this goal, enabling us to embrace the increasing demand for digital and better serve our customers," said van Nieuwenhuizen.

The Jenius mobile banking app was launched in 2016.
