Good Technology offers migration support for BB users

Good Technology says transition to other platforms can also be secured and does not require costly investment in VPN hardware.

With enterprises showing support for other mobility platforms, Good Technology is now offering enterprises a migration path from the BlackBerry platform.

Good Technology recently released the Good for Enterprise app and a new Platform Transition Services for enterprises and government organisations who are transitioning their mission-critical messaging platforms to the iOs, Android and Windows Phone platforms.

For US$5 per user per month, Good for Enterprise is a productivity app for iOS, Android and Windows Phone for enterprise-grade email, calendar, contacts and tasks, along with secure Intranet access.

Good Technology, which offers secure mobility options, said it has enough experience in the BlackBerry platform to help organisations move to other platforms with lesser risk worries and minor IT investment.

Industry analysts have noted the shift of enterprises and governments to different platforms and the concern for secure transition has always been raised.

Enterprise shift

Stacy Crook, program manager, Mobile Enterprise Research, IDC, suggested that organisations thinking for transitioning should consider solutions providers that “deliver visibility and management of data across devices, platforms and applications.”

"As a pure-play secure mobility provider with a proven containerisation and NOC infrastructure, as well as FIPS 140-2 encryption and Common Criteria EAL4+ certification for Good for Enterprise for iOS and Android, Good Technology has made the appropriate investments to satisfy the stringent security requirements that many organisations require, as well as those that are looking to safely manage BYOD environments,” added Crook.

Good Technology said organisations transitioning from the BlackBerry platform need not require additional costly VPN hardware and additional support. Instead, critical apps and data can still be protected across multiple platforms.

"Good is the easy choice for BlackBerry customers looking for an alternative, and we've already helped many customers successfully navigate this transition,” said Lynn Lucas, chief marketing officer, Good Technology. “As the only mobile productivity app with Common Criteria EAL4+ certifications on both iOS and Android (the highest certification often used for sensitive government data) in addition to FIPS 140-2 encryption, we're the natural solution that doesn't require a customer to reevaluate their security posture."
