In an effort to bring the best BBM experience to all users, the updates will introduce new features as well as addressing a couple of known issues and adding device support.
The new version will allow iPhone and Android users to invite contacts to BBM groups using their email address. Additionally, the update includes the "Tell your friends" and "Share your PIN" features which will allow you to invite people to BBM or share your BBM PIN using your preferred social media platform.
Users will now be able to install BBM not only on their iPhones, but on their iPads and iPods as well. The update will resolve several issues regarding performance and missing BBM contact names. The new iPhone version also covers previous issues encountered in right to left language support.
As for Android users, the version will provide new and improved organizing features. With BBM Contact categories, users will be able to filter and list both BBM contacts and BBM groups.
Previous issues where users were experiencing higher battery use have been addressed as well as other bug fixes and performance improvements.
BBM updates for Android (v1.0.2) and iPhone (v1.0.4) were launched on Friday and are available as a free download in Google Play and Apple App Store.
