Asia leads the world in mobile subscribers. The number of mobile subscribers worldwide has exceeded 5.9 billion with China and India accounting for over 30 percent and so has the adoption of mobile platforms. (Ref. www.androidguys.com/2011/04/26/nielsen-android-preferred-mobile-os-present-future-smart-phone-purchases/). Mobile apps penetration however is about 77 percent in Singapore; around 67 percent in Malaysia; 84 percent in Hong Kong; 70 percent in Indonesia; and, 72 percent in the Philippines according to industry reports.
What kind of impact do all the trends you've talked about so far have on your business, moving forward?
Micro Focus has been delivering software development, application server and quality tools for over 35 years. As technologies have changed and platforms have come and gone, we have been keeping pace with that change so our customers always have an option to leverage their existing technologies and testing practices. Mobile application delivery and testing is a rapidly growing market segment that our customers can take advantage of as we continue to deliver products to the mobile market space. We expect this market space to be a growing part of our business over the coming years.
