Microsoft's deep love of hilariously bad parody videos has struck once again, with the OneNote team rolling out "Click it and I Note It," an absolute gem of a disaster that celebrates the note-taking service's deep Surface Pro 3 integration by miming LMFAO's already ridiculous "I'm Sexy and I Know It."
Folks are hating on the video on Twitter, but I kind of love it.
Microsoft's no stranger to so-bad-they're-good parody videos, though. Former CEOs Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer starred in a series of amazing spoofs in years gone by. Here's a few of them; they're all deliciously horrible.
Bill and Steve don't always hog the spotlight; here's a Microsoft UK training video starring comedians Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, the creators of the original UK version of The Office. (A quick Google search will turn up more of these.)
The company doesn't always use its parody powers for good, however. Here, Microsoft mocks a Google Chrome ad--it's less funny, but devastatingly effective.
OK, this "Gmail Man" video doesn't spoof anything other video or movie directly, but it still tickles my funny bone, as much as I generally loathe the negativity of Microsoft's Scroogled anti-Google campaign.
Not all of Microsoft's attempts at humor are successful, though. The company quickly yanked this Apple-bashing flick (complete with Jony Ive and Steve Jobs back-of-head impersonators) because, well, it was kind of crude and not really funny.
