Starting today, Uber customers in Singapore will have the option of paying for their rides using PayPal.
The PayPal option will be available to all customers using the latest version of the Uber app, according to a joint press release. Customers intending to pay via PayPal are required to first add their PayPal account to the Uber app. Thereafter, they can select PayPal as their payment method for any of their Uber rides via the app.
According to Yaniv Goder, Uber's General Manager for Singapore, the company decided to integrate PayPal as a payment option as it offers "safety, reliability and global coverage in multiple currencies," thus putting customers' payment worries at ease.
In addition to Singapore, PayPal is available as a payment option to Uber customers in Hong Kong, New Zealand, Canada, Greece, Israel, Mexico, Switzerland and Sweden. With this announcement, Uber users around the globe can now take a ride in over 300 cities while paying with PayPal.
