New solution to enhance software assurance lifecycle of embedded programs being written

A collaborative effort between India's Tata Consultancy Services and Japan's Nissan Motor has now brought about development of the TCS Embedded Code Analyzer (TCS ECA) , a solution that enhances the software assurance cycle for automotive, high tech and other industries that make product that rely on embedded software.

A press statement by Tata Consultancy Services claimed theTCS ECA is the most scalable solution of its kind in the market at present.

Easy to Customize

It also said the TCS ECA is easy to customise for the specific needs of particular industries.

The solution will be distributed by Yokogawa Digital Computer Corp.

The statement pointed out that quality software code is vital to the proper functioning of products with embedded software and that TCS ECA helps manufacturers accelerate product development, produce more reliable products, reduce time-to-market and lower costs attributed to software failure.

This is because the solution automatically detects coding defects difficult to identify through standard testing and review processes.

Such defects are often expensive to locate and fix if not detected early in the software development cycle.
