T-Mobile ties Verizon for LTE speed supremacy in latest OpenSignal report

Ian Paul | Feb. 3, 2016
T-Mobile may be having fun with the competition in public, but the company is deadly serious about improving its infrastructure--and it's paying off.

Chicago and Miami had the fastest recorded speeds in OpenSignal’s tests with Verizon offering speeds around 18.8 and 18.9 Mbps respectively. T-Mobile’s fastest speed was in Atlanta, where it tied with Verizon, averaging 16.9 Mbps.

With competition between the big four carriers heating up, OpenSignal says it plans to release a new U.S. State of Mobile report every six months. The next report will be published in August.
