Surging ahead of competition

We launched the ThinkPad Tablet for business customers and IdeaPad Tablet K1 (3G and Wi-Fi versions) for consumers in July, and the recent addition of the entry-level entertainment IdeaPad Tablet A1,  mean that we now have a full suite of tablet devices that serve specific purposes for both work and play. Our Lenovo App Shop is an app marketplace which features popular applications that have been tested specifically for Lenovo IdeaPad and ThinkPad Tablets. The Lenovo App Shop offers apps within a broad range of categories including music, movies, books, productivity, social networking, weather, printing and more.

A recent survey by Microsoft (It's All About Personal Gadgets For Asian Families, Nov 15, 2011) showed that Singaporean families are very receptive to gadgets and technology. They use email, instant messaging, social networks and video chat, on top of phone calls, to connect with family members overseas during festive seasons.  It's no surprise that tablets feature highly as the gadget to own - as a tool to connect, as well as to consume media. 

Lenovo is optimistic about our mobile opportunity and we are aggressively attacking the fast-growing mobile internet space. We also believe that digital home has tremendous growth potential, and that smart TV will play a major role in contributing to that growth especially in the coming year ahead.

 How do you see Lenovo's performance in Singapore next year amid the growing fear of economic uncertainty?

According to Gartner, radical shifts in customer behavioural changes and buying habits will continue and prove to be a challenge to many industries, to reinvent product development and sales and services processes to align with customer expectations and technology use. At Lenovo, we are focused on the user experience, providing functionally strong products with the right combination of apps, technologies and style. In addition, we continue to build on incredible marketplace momentum and are positioned as a strong challenger to become global number 1.
