Interested customers in Singapore can purchase the device for S$399 from SingTel's retail outlets and online store.

SingTel is now offering a commercial 300Mbps 4G service through the Huawei E5786 mobile MiFi device for consumers in Singapore.

The Huawei E5786 is the first mobile broadband device globally to be compatible with LTE-Advanced networks, which can deliver data speeds of up to 300Mbps, said the Singapore telco in a press statement. The device is available today (24 July 2014) from SingTel's retail outlets and online store for S$399 (US$319) or for a discounted price of S$168 (US$134) with any SingTel 24-month mobile broadband plan.

The launch of the Huawei E5786 is part of SingTel's aim to "bring the benefits of LTE-Advanced services to Singaporeans before anyone else in the world", said Johan Buse, SingTel's vice president of consumer marketing.

Earlier this year, SingTel announced that it plans to provide nationwide coverage of its LTE-Advanced network by the end of the first quarter of 2015. While the LTE-Advanced service is currently available at Changi Airport, Singapore Expo and the area around Bugis MRT station, the coverage will expand to the Central Business District, Orchard, Shenton Way and City Hall areas by the end of August this year.
