French retailer of perfumes and cosmetics sets Singapore, Malaysia sites for initial e-commerce foray into the region.

Sephora, the French chain of perfumes and cosmetics stores, has partnered with e-commerce services provider, the ZALORA Group, to bring its lines of beauty, skin care and fragrance products to online shoppers in Asia-Pacific.

A press statement by ZALORA said the e-commerce initiative will first launch in Singapore and Malaysia with plans to expand into Thailand in mid-2014.

Sephora intends to reach this year  online shoppers elsewhere in the Asia-Pacific where ZALORA has an e-commerce presence.

By mid-2014, all Sephora brands available online on ZALORA will be similar to all brands retailed in bricks-and-mortars shops  of this Paris-based chain owned by the luxury goods group, Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessey (LMVH).

Sephora's product lines include brands for skin care, color, fragrance, body, smile care and hair care.

No specific dates for the launch of Sephora's e-commerce initiatives appeared on the press statement.
