Redknee, Tech Mahindra forge global partnership

Companies will deliver solutions and services to clients in communications industry

Two global partners of Microsoft Corporation recently forged an agreement to be able to deliver integrated business solutions and services to the communications industry.

Canada's Redknee Solutions and India-UK's Tech Mahindra will jointly deliver solutions and services based mainly on the Microsoft Dynamics CRM, and also Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2, and Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2.

Redknee, which is listed in the Toronto Stock Exchange, provides business-critical billing and charging software.

On the other hand, Tech Mahindra, which is a partnership between India's Mahindra Group and the UK's British Telecommunications, is a global systems integrator and consulting company, and a 2011 Microsoft Communications Sector Partner of the Year Award winner.

Under the partnership, Tech Mahindra will include Redknee's Turnkey Converged Billing and Customer Care solution in its existing portfolio of OSS/BSS (operation support systems/business support systems) solutions, and this will speed up deployment for service providers.

Redknee said this partnership will enable them to address better the communications industry, through the additional range of services delivered through Tech Mahindra.

Pritam Parvatkar, director, global alliances, Tech Mahindra, said Tech Mahindra brings to the partnership its expertise in the telecommunications industry while Redknee brings in its superior software solutions. "This partnership delivers benefits for both the entities through a wider scope of business opportunities and greater depth of solutions delivered for service providers globally," Parvatkar added.

Larry Goldman, head, telecoms software research, Analysys Mason, said such a partnership for fully integrated software solutions is what the communications service providers are looking for. "This agreement provides a broad range of integrated billing, charging, customer care and OSS capabilities that deliver improved time to market and reduced cost," Goldman added.
