Playing on its tagline "Neighbours First, Bankers Second", local bank POSB has launched a new portal to promote community spirit in Singapore.
Called Neighboursfirst.sg, the portal features stories highlighting the transformation of the spaces in Singapore as well as the local citizens' changing mindsets and sense of purpose over the years. The rollout is timely as the republic is set to celebrate its golden jubilee next year, said Lim Bee Bee, head of marketing for the consumer banking group Singapore of DBS Bank. Lim added that the portal aims to "bring Singaporeans together, regardless of their background and passion."
According to POSB, the initial response to the portal has been encouraging. For instance, the "Merging Lanes" video was viewed more than 65,0000 times. The video traced the journey of young passionate biker Jonathan as he takes part in a fundraiser, The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride.
In addition to featured stories, visitors are encouraged to share their stories about what Singapore means to them and the innovations that will shape the nation's future to enrich the site.
Commenting on the portal, Derrick Goh, head of POSB, said that it is part of the bank's efforts to engage with the community through different platforms.
