Polycom has launched its CX8000 room system for Microsoft Lync and the unified collaboration and communications room system for employees, managers and customers/clients of geographically dispersed organizations will ship worldwide beginning March.
A press statement by the San Jose, California-based provider of telepresence and voice communications solutions said the new videoconferencing room system adds to its portfolio of more than 40 offerings interoperable with Microsoft Lync.
Some of the Polycom CX8000's main features include presence, contact search, instant messaging, HD videoconferencing, HD audio, virtual white boarding, touch display-powered presentations, applications sharing and editing on shared documents.
The vendor said that the videoconferencing room system leverages Microsoft Lync's implementation of open standards, scalable video coding (SVC).
It is currently available for order in selected countries and will be available worldwide shortly.
