Philips new DesignLine TV offers alternative design

It looks like just a sheet of glass but it is actually a TV.

Philips DesignLine TV

If conventional, plasma, or LED TVs are too boring for you, you might want to consider the Philips DesignLine TVs recently launched by TP Vision.

A TV without a neck, a stand or a visible frame, the DesignLine is simply one seamless sheet of glass in gradient black to transparent that is leaning against a wall or mounted on it. When it is switched on, the lower area of the glass becomes invisible, thus projecting a floating effect.

To further support the floating effect, the DesignLine features ambilight, which projects light that matches the colour of the on-screen content onto the wall behind the TV.

Similar to other premium TVs, the Designline also offers user interaction and streaming capabilities.

The DesignLine TVs is available at all authorised retailers in Singapore in two screen sizes. The 46-inch model is priced at S$4,999 (US$3,986) while the 55-inch model costs S$5,599 (US$4,465).
