As user of SAP's Ariba Networks, a small family owned-business that supplies the Philippines' seafood industry has reaped gains from its migration from manual process to this B2B trading platform. Among such benefits is its experiencing an 80 percent reduction in late or overdue payments.
An SAP AG press statement cited this case as it reported on the success enjoyed by the Manila, Philippines-based Charles Seafood Company, which transitioned from its use of manual process into the use of the SAP Ariba B2B trading platform.
Doing so meant digitising its formerly manual procedures for buying, selling and managing cash.
The press statement described its formerly manual procedures as making orders difficult to track and manage. For one having manual processes caused errors that led to delays in deliveries. The formerly manual processes of Charles Seafoods Supply took the form of having orders faxed or called in by phone even as invoices were being sent by mail.
The company's transition to use of the B2B platform began with creation of an online catalogue enabling customers to view and order the company's products with only a few clicks of the mouse. Not too long after implementation of the new system, Charles Seafoods Supply extended its use of Ariba Networks into collaborating around invoices.
Among the results were a 75 percent boost in order accuracy and a 30 percent reduction in days sales outstanding.
The SAP press statement quoted Charles Seafoods Supply proprietor Mayette Yulo as saying her company now receives payments faster and now experiences positive cash flow to expand its business. The statement also said that Ariba Networks now has over 1.5 million companies connected to it.
