The flash-optimised hybrid storage solutions maker intends to grow its Asia business further, company representatives have said.

On Wednesday (January 23, 2013), Nimble Storage, a flash-optimised hybrid storage solutions vendor that styles itself as "the storage industry's fastest growing company in history" issued a statement announcing the opening of its Singapore office. According to the company's executives, the Singapore office "is part of a targeted investment plan to expand operations as advances are made towards an IPO."

"Nimble rapidly expanding into global markets that have high growth in data centre projects," they said in the statement, "Singapore is estimated to hold more than 50 percent of the commercial carrier and carrier neutral data centre space in Southeast Asia, according to the country's Economic Development Board."

Adding to this, Vice President for Nimble Storage Asia Pacific, Peter O'Connor said they had bigger plans for their latest office. "We also see Singapore as an important hub from which we can quickly expand into the rest of Asia," he said. "In fact, we plan to move our Asia Pacific headquarters from Sydney to Singapore within the next 18 months to take full advantage of its strategic location."

The Nimble Storage statement also named the six local resellers they have appointed for Singapore: Biomedia IT Holdings, Genesis Networks, Infront Consulting Group, IT Access, SoftSource and TVC.
