NetApp Singapore has raised S$148,811 (US$117,796) for children’s cancer research in a head-shaving event held yesterday in Harry’s Bar at Millenia Walk .
The storage and data management solutions company teamed up with BMC Software Singapore to raise funds for The St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a charity committed to funding research for a cure of childhood cancers.
“All proceeds raised will go to Duke-NUS Pediatric Cancer Research Fund,” said Simon Green, vice president and general manager of NetApp Asia Pacific.

In its third year, the annual charity drive’s volunteers who shaved their heads were some 15 NetApp members including Green and Singapore country manager Loh Ching Soo, as well as BMC Software’s Vice President for the Asia Pacific, Chip Salyards.
The fundraiser also saw students from United World College who were keen to have their heads shaved in support of children’s cancer research.
Separately, NetApp has donated US$2million for The St. Baldrick’s Foundation, according to Green.
