NEC Philippines rolls out new offerings for retailers

Adrian M. Reodique | Nov. 15, 2016
A new lineup of touchscreen Point-of- Sale (POS) terminals has been available since last Wednesday (9 November 2016).

NEC Philippines has launched a new lineup of touchscreen Point-of-Sale (POS) terminals, called TWINPOS G5200, to its NEC TWINPOS series.

According to NEC, the new TWINPOS G5200 series provides a lineup of standard, pole-mount, wall-mount, and other models to enable flexibility for installation in various store layouts in the Philippines. It also uses a flat surface display to avoid ingress of water drops and dust from the display front.

In addition, the new product supports NEC's middleware that collects operational status of the POS terminals including accumulated operating time, CPU load and internal temperature to detect actual and impending failure. Basically, the information obtained by the middleware allows the operators to do preventative maintenance or quick recovery from failure.

Three models from the series has been made available in the Philippines from last Wednesday (9 November 2016), namely: the TWINPOS G5200Ui standard model, TWINPOS G5200Vi which allows for more shelves to display promotional items and customer service, and the TWINPOS G5200Ei.

"Retail is one of the fastest growing markets for NEC in the Philippines. We are pleased to launch the TWINPOS G5200 which compliments NEC's wide-range of retail solutions that seeks to add value to retail companies that need easy-to-maintain, scalable retail solutions for operational efficiency," said Agnes A. Gervacio, President of NEC Philippines, in a press release.
