The funds will be used to expand company’s online and offline agent channels.

Star Ticket, a bus ticketing startup in Myanmar, has raised US$200,000 from local Internet company BOD Tech.

Star Ticket allows travellers to buy bus tickets online. Its agent software is provided to retailers such as convenience stores so that customers can easily pay and collect their tickets.

The raised funds will be used to expand the startup's online and offline agent channels and get more bus operators onboard. Currently, Star Ticket is used by bus operators in 12 cities in the country.

"We are hoping to become the core infrastructure of Bus Ticketing in Myanmar in the next two years, and to move into to other ticketing verticals in the future," said Thet Mon Aye, Founder of Star Ticket, in a press release.

"Star Ticket has so much potential as it has both online and offline sales channel. This investment will bring synergy between Myanmar's largest flight portal and fastest growing ticketing portal together," said Mike Than Tun Win, Founder of BOD Tech.
