Malaysian online healthcare platform provider BookDoc has formed new partnerships with two healthcare providers in Hong Kong - Quality HealthCare Medical Services (QHMS) and Asia Medicare Hong Kong (Asia Medicare).

Dato' Chevy Beh, founder and chief executive officer of BookDoc, said, "BookDoc is now working with QHMS, which operates a network of about 100 multi-specialty clinics in Hong Kong , and Asia Medicare, which is now part of Aier Eye Hospital Group, the largest private eye services group in mainland China with a market capitalisation well over US$5 billion."

Beh said with BookDoc, users can search and book selected specialist services offered by QHMS and eye care services by Asia Medicare in Hong Kong.

With this new move, BookDoc has more than 50 percent coverage of private healthcare facilities, doctor and specialist services in Hong Kong.

"To us, it is a vote of confidence on the value that BookDoc could bring to the table and a recognition that the way we experience healthcare will indeed be shaped by technological development," he added.

Asia Medicare chief operating officer Iris Zheng confirmed that Asia Medicare was planning to upgrade its centres in 2016 and 2017, and expand its facility to offer expert eye care services.

"By collaborating with BookDoc, we will be able to streamline the reservation process and ensure access is only a click away," said Zheng.

Deep linking mobile app

BookDoc's Beh said the App was now complete with navigation, land and air transport, as well as hotel accommodation functions for users to attend their healthcare appointments both locally and abroad.

This ecosystem has been achieved "through deep-linking of its mobile app with Google Maps and Waze for navigation, Grab and Uber for land transport, AirAsia for air transport and Agoda for hotel accommodation."

"With BookDoc's growing network of healthcare providers in Malaysia , Singapore and Hong Kong , as well as our integrated online service ecosystem, you can now travel to any of these countries for your healthcare needs worry-free, just by using our BookDoc App," added Beh.

Quality HealthCare Medical Services Limited (QHMS), Hong Kong, became part of Bupa, an international healthcare group, in October 2013. Asia Medicare (HK) Limited provides eye care services in Hong Kong.

BookDoc, available in Malaysia , Singapore , Hong Kong and Thailand, is an online platform (Apps & Web) which allows users to search & book healthcare professionals (such as GPs, specialist, dentists, physiotherapist, and chiropractors), with integrated location features to book transport (land & air) and accommodation; and companies to track health benefits usage to their employees.
