Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd had a total of US$ 3.4. billion in purchases from Europe in 2013 and these consisted of components, engineering services and logistical services, according to a press statement by the telecoms manufacturing company that is now the world's largest.
The statement said Huawei deputy chairman and rotating CEO Ken Hu made the 2013 purchases disclosure during the recently-concluded World Economic Forum 2014 in Davos, Switzerland.
It added that this procurement level is expected to grow even further in the future.
Huawei now has more than 7700 employees and the Chinese telecom manufacturer has also set two R&D centres across 14 locations in that continent while establishing six centres of expertise in finance, marketing, services and other fields.
It has further teamed up with leading European carriers, universities and organisations to advance policies, standards and procurements.
