Huawei extends cooperation with SAP

Signs MoU with research institute Fraunhofer ESK at CeBIT 2015.

Huawei has expanded partnership with SAP and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with research institute Fraunhofer ESK.

Both the agreements were recently made during CeBIT 2015. Huawei and SAP will deepen cooperation in Industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things.

An expanded partnership with SAP aims towards establishing joint innovation efforts in Shenzhen, China and Walldorf, Germany.

A technical collaboration between SAP and Huawei will be established and advanced research on the Internet of Things (IoT) will be done to provide new solutions to market.

"With extensive experience and expertise in ICT infrastructure, Huawei is committed to collaborating with SAP to leverage our respective technologies and market capabilities to develop differentiated IoT and cloud solutions," said William Xu, chief strategy and marketing officer, Huawei. "These solutions are designed to help global enterprises across different sectors deploy new technologies easily and quickly."

Innovative ICT technologies

Huawei and Fraunhofer ESK will jointly develop innovative ICT technologies for Industry 4.0.

Together, they will research and develop Industry 4.0 solutions, comprising new ICT platforms, development work beyond 4G, as well as industrial wireless and wired communication technologies.

Fraunhofer ESK will also help Huawei to transform its advanced Industry 4.0 lab to showcase products and solutions developed by this collaboration and its joint ICT capabilities to develop Industry 4.0 applications.

As experts in communications technologies, our constant endeavor is the research and development of communication technologies to ensure that it is reliable, secure and hence meet the requirements of the industry," said Prof. Dr.-Ing. Rudi Knorr, director of Fraunhofer ESK and chair of Communications Systems at Augsburg University.

 

Industry 4.0 is gaining a lot of momentum and Huawei intends to continue supporting the Industry 4.0 ecosystem by collaborating with partners in Europe like Fraunhofer ESK.
