Honeywell is increasing the productivity of operators of oil and gas terminals through the release of its OneWireless Terminal Solution.
Honeywell's OneWireless Terminal Solution brings together a portfolio of wireless-enabled products, services and productivity tools - all specifically designed for terminal operators.
The new solution also enables these operators to comply with rules and regulations related to health, safety and environment (HSE).
All these goals are achieved at much reduced cost as compared to wired technology, claims Honeywell, a Fortune 100 diversified technology and manufacturing company, serving customers all across the world.
"There is constant pressure on terminal operators and owners to improve productivity, efficiency, safety and security with limited capital and operating budgets. The OneWireless Terminal Solution helps enable customers to achieve these goals within their budgets," said Ray Rogowski, global marketing director, Honeywell Process Solutions.
Precise wireless radar gauge
OneWireless Terminal Solution includes a high-precision wireless radar gauge that does not require any external wireless module.
The ISA100-compatible Honeywell Enraf SmartRadar FlexLine wireless radar gauge features integrated radio that sends tank level measurements wirelessly to the central control room in a secure manner.
The Flexline also collects data from local tank instruments and send the data wirelessly through the same ISA100 network.
"In a competitive industry, terminal operators are investing in tank automation to meet new safety regulations as well as continuously looking for ways to manage costs. Wireless-enabled tank gauging is less expensive, at about half the cost of the wired alternative," adds Rogowski.
OneWireless Terminal Solution also includes applications such as Honeywell's mobile productivity tools, wireless fixed and portable gas detectors as well as wireless video.
Because this solution can implement wi-fi and ISA100 instrumentation coverage in a single network, Honeywell claims it can realise an additional 25 percent cost savings in material, installation and maintenance costs over other wireless solutions.
