Process automation services and technologies supplier, Emerson Process Management has opened a first traceable facility for Southeast Asia in Singapore.
The US$1 million ISO17025-compliant centre is located within the existing Emerson Process Management Southeast Asia Service Center set up in Singapore in 2008.
The new facility is reportedly built to solve the challenges Southeast Asian customers often face in validating flow device calibrations by providing in-house calibration, repair and analysis services for Emerson's Micro Motion and Rosemount flowmeters.
The new service seeks to ensure a minimum process downtime as it prevents process shutdowns and delays from the traditional method where flowmeters were physically removed and shipped overseas for calibration services.
The ISO17025 compliant quality management system also aims for substantial cost savings by offering internationally certified calibrations, eliminating the need for third party documentation associated with ISO9000 quality requirements.
Scott Anderson, president of Emerson's Flow Lifecycle Care, said the new facility aims to expand the company's flow service footprint in Asia. "Our continuous drive to expand our Lifecycle Care capabilities demonstrates Emerson's commitment in delivering much needed local and certified services," he said.
The service centre plans to achieve ISO17025 accreditation and expands calibration and service capabilities for vortex and magnetic flowmeters in the near future.
