The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) on Wednesday (30 March 2016) launched LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) Portal for Archiving and Distribution (LiPAD) website, which provides access to flood hazard maps in the Philippines.

The LiPAD web portal is the distribution arm of the Phil-LiDAR 1 programme of the University of the Philippines (UP). The programme aims to produce 3D flood and hazard maps for two thirds of the river systems in the country.

Aside from flood hazard maps, the public can also download sample datasets from Phil-LiDAR 2, digital terrain models, digital surface models, selected orthophotos, and selected classified LAZ.
