Consumer confidence in Asia up in second quarter: Nielsen

Veronica C. Silva | July 26, 2012
Globally, confidence is down, including Singapore, Japan, and South Korea.

The Nielsen Global Survey of Consumer Confidence and Spending Intentions was conducted 4-21 May 2012 and involved more than 28,000 online consumers in 56 countries throughout Asia Pacific, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, Africa and North America. The Nielsen survey is based on the behaviour of respondents with online access only.

The Nielsen Global Survey of Consumer Confidence and Spending Intentions has been tracking consumer confidence, major concerns and spending intentions since 2005. Consumer confidence levels above and below a baseline of 100 indicate degrees of optimism and pessimism.
