Consumers in Singapore can now enjoy Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals without the need to be physically present at US stores.
Black Friday and Cyber Monday are infamous for being days after Thanksgiving when US retailers offer steep discounts on all products including tech gadgets. However, not all retailers ship their discounted items internationally.
To counter this, Big Apple Buddy - a New York-based online shopping concierge - will help Singapore shoppers to order their desired items directly from the US stores before delivering them to their doorstep within four business days. The product cost and shipping charges are passed on to the consumers without markup; however, there is a minimum service fee of US$40 per order.
Cross-border shopping is the fastest-growing branch of e-commerce, and there are different ways to acquire desired tech gadgets from the U.S., such as eBay. To set itself apart from competitors, Big Apple Buddy claims to take care of the entire shopping process -- including discount negotiations with the stores, packaging, and shipping - as well as provides personalised product and shopping advice.
According to Big Apple Buddy, Amazon and Best Buy are offering competitive deals on tech gadgets. Among the deals on Amazon are US$35 Fire tablets , US$99 Jawbone Up3, and 20 percent discount on Samsung Galaxy tablets. Meanwhile, Best Buy is selling the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 for US$399.99 and US$299.99 Huawei Swartwatch.
