"There's a lack of awareness about compliances in the corporate sector. Any kind of "jugaad" may not help a company get out of a potential exposure under the IT Act. An effective implementation of these compliances will relieve companies of the IT Act's potential liabilities, both civil and criminal," advises Duggal.
So the Streisand effect in the IIPM case will slowly wear off, but the potential threat of the IT Act will continue to haunt enterprises.
