The Windows 10 Technical Preview is a go! Head over to preview.windows.com and sign up for the new Windows Insider program to get your chance to help mold the very future of Windows. And rejoice! It's in proper ISO format rather than the "Installed via the Windows Store" madness that Microsoft mandated for the Windows 8.1 preview.

Remember: This is a very, very, very, very early build, and since you won't want to install a pre-release operating system on a production machine or otherwise crucial PC. Stick to virtual machines or discrete hard drive partitions for this bad boy. And be sure to back up your data first!

Wondering how to do that? Stay tuned to PCWorld; we'll have detailed instructions on how to install the Windows 10 Technical Preview up soon. And be sure to check out senior editor Mark Hachman's hands-on with Windows 10 while the operating system's downloading to know what's coming your way.
