With September closing in on us, we're eagerly anticipating the launch of the next iPhone. Apple has a yearly cycle that it likes to follow with regards to product releases, and iPhone announcements have typically happened in September/early October since 2011. With this being said, we've listed our predictions for the event based on the flurry of Apple-related rumours that seem to crop up around this time of year.
It's a good idea to bookmark this page, as we'll be updating this with new information as soon as we receive it. That includes the official event date once the invites have been sent out by Apple, which usually happens around two weeks prior to the event.
BREAKING NEWS: Apple has just sent out invites for its event on 9 September 2015, as rumoured. The invite has the caption "Hey Siri, give us a hint."and will take place at 10 am PT (6pm GMT) at Bill Graham auditorium in San Francisco, California.
We at Macworld assumed that saying "Hey Siri, give us a hint." to Siri would give us a clue about the event, but this sadly doesn't seem to be the case. The invite suggests that Siri will play a huge part in the announcement, due to the caption and the design which is similar to Siri's look on the Apple Watch.
UPDATE: It works! We must have been a bit premature asking Siri to give us a hint but try it now and she'll respond with lots of different answers. One of the most interesting reads: "What, you can't tell from my colourful wavey words," which we think might be a hint at the rumoured iPhone 6C but we could just be grasping at straws.
Let us know in the comments below if Siri answers with something interesting!
When will Apple hold the iPhone event?
Based on last year's event, which was held on Tuesday 9 September, we think that the iPhone launch event will be on either Tuesday 8 September or Thursday 10 September, based on the trend (and the fact that Apple events aren't normally on Wednesdays).
