Vocus cannot guarantee service reactivation for iBoss, One Telecom customers

Telecommunications company, Vocus, is rushing to reconnect services interrupted by the court-ordered administration of iBoss International last week, which subsequently hit sister company, One Telecom, but is not promising that all services can be reactivated.

Telecommunications company, Vocus Communications, is rushing to reconnect services interrupted by the court-ordered administration of iBoss International last week, which subsequently hit sister company, One Telecom, but is not promising that all services can be reactivated.

Vocus confirmed it has now acquired the businesses and customers of iBoss and One Telecom (including ONEseniors customers) and is "unravelling the complex supply arrangements and corporate structure" of both.

It claims that it has so far contracted and restored almost 10,000 iBoss services; this was initially the total estimated number of affected services.

On the retail side, Vocus chief executive officer (CEO), James Spenceley, said One Telecom and ONEseniors customers will be able to move to an alternative supplier without facing any contract termination penalties.

"The disconnection of tens of thousands of retail customers is a blight on an otherwise strong and competitive telecommunications industry," Spenceley said.

"The decision to place these companies into administration arises from court proceedings to resolve personal disputes between the owners and has resulted in a worst case outcome for their customers, especially the ONEseniors customers."
