Violin has launched it's latest assault on the datacentre with the Concerto Enterprise Data Services Software Suite and the New 7000 All Flash Array.
The data services software includes synchronous and asynchronous replication and stretch metro cluster capabilities.
It also enables storage snapshots, thin provisioning, LUN and capacity expansion, as well as advanced data protection and storage scaling are also available. T
This allows businesses and cloud providers to consolidate datacentre resources and open up new business opportunities. Violin memory chief executive, Kevin DeNuccio, said the Concerto 7000 All Flash Array helped customers deliver 'Business in a Flash', by transforming IT resources into competitive assets that create new possibilities based on the performance, data protection, and transactional capabilities we design into our all-flash solutions. Several critical elements of Violin's Concerto enterprise data services software, including continuous data protection, WAN optimized replication and in-flight encryption can all be configured on a LUN-by-LUN basis, according to a company statement.
The breadth and granular manageability of the Concerto 7000 software provides the optimal platform for mixed and multiple workloads in enterprise and cloud environments. The Concerto 7000 All Flash Array hardware platform delivers micro-second latency and lower cost-per-transaction for demanding mixed and multiple cloud, enterprise and virtualised applications.
The result for IT organizations and their line-of-business customers can be up to 20x faster application response times while using 90 percent less floor space, power and cooling. IDC analyst, Eric Burgener, said vendors needed to provide a true enterprise class offering built around flash optimised architectures.
"The hallmark of today's enterprise class workhorses is their ability to host mixed multiple workloads while delivering the reliability, availability, scalability and management features that datacentre applications require," he said.
"Once vendors deliver mature flash-based products with these features the all-flash datacentre becomes a distinct reality." It is now available worldwide with raw capacity scaling to 280TB in a fully configured, super-dense 18RU, low power footprint.
