Malaysian telco U Mobile has garnered the 'Best New Service' Award 2012 during the recent GoMobile Expo held in early May in Kuala Lumpur.
U Mobile's chief technology officer, Too Tian Jen, received the award from Malaysian government regulator Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) chairman, YBhg Datuk Mohamed Sharil Tarmizi during the awards ceremony.
"We are thankful to our customers, whose endless support of U Mobile has directly helped us earn this prestigious recognition from our industry partner," said U Mobile chief executive officer, Dr Kaizad Heerjee. "U Mobile is constantly striving to be unique among our peers through various value-add offerings paired with high quality services which benefit our customers. We will continue to innovate in our product and service offerings to ensure our customers receive an unrivalled mobile experience only with U Mobile."
Dr Kaizad said the panel of judges identified U Mobile's value-added prepaid offerings, especially with its zero-roaming charges, local call rates and lowest data roaming for subscribers travelling to Singapore, which is a result of U Mobile's strategic partnership with Starhub.
The GoMobile Awards is a platform for the recognition of outstanding achievements, contributions and innovations by industry players and is part of the annual GoMobile event.
