Creating updates means there's more work to do. "Marketing heads must 'prepare' their teams for that and communicate with people who are outside the team, but whose help is needed in creating programs and updates," she said.

Before the launch of your app, Chong noted, you need to find ways to let people know it will be out there to offer them goodies. "Don't expect people to automatically find you," she said. "You must come up with something creative to get their attention."
