Aiming to make travelling in Asia much easier, Singapore telco StarHub has rolled out an all-in-one digital concierge mobile app called Goru.

The Goru app will detect users' location before connecting them to the must-have list of country-specific tourist apps and information.

Users can also compare and book the best hotel deals, make restaurant reservations, browse up-to-date travel and event guides, and uncover the 'coolest' spots, through the app.

"With many travel sites, forums and apps available today, travellers while planning their trips are often bombarded with an overload of options on accommodation, attractions, shopping, transport, dining and more. For this very reason, we challenged ourselves to create a traveller-friendly app to simplify the overall travel experience," said Stephen Lee, Head of i3 (Innovation, Investment and Incubation) at StarHub.

The Goru app currently offers content recommendations only for Singapore, but is expected to offer exclusive retail and dining discount offers, as well as new travel related content and maps from other Asian destinations in future. According to StarHub, the app's content is pulled from content providers including Agoda, Chope and City Nomads.

The app is now available for download from the Apple App Store and Google Play. Travellers can enjoy free local data access charges when using the app with StarHub's Mobile pre-paid SIM cards in Singapore.
