Sony Ericsson expands senior leadership in the Asia Pacific

Matthew Lang and Ola Lilja Molén have joined the senior leadership of communications entertainment brand, Sony Ericsson.

Matthew Lang has been appointed as the corporate vice president and head of the Asia Pacific region, and Ola Lilja Molén is the new vice president of marketing for this region.

Lang brings with him a depth of sales and marketing experience from around the world and already has a distinguished career with Sony Corporation.

He has worked in the different parts of the world including Europe, Central Asia, the Caucasus and Africa.

Lang also served as managing director for the Sony South Africa and Nordic regions. He will now be responsible for Sony Ericsson's business in nations across the Asia Pacific excluding Japan, China and Hong Kong.

Most recently, Lang served as managing director for Sony South Africa where he established Sony's clear lead in the LCD TV market and led the hosting of Sony's FIFA World Cup 2011 sponsorship.

"Asia is a dynamic region for Sony Ericsson. Our strategy in the region remains focused on creating new product experiences for consumers, strengthening Sony Ericsson's position as the world's leading communication entertainment brand," said Lang.

Positions based in Singapore

Both appointments are effective immediately and according to Sony Ericsson, both Lang and Molén will be based in Singapore.

Ola Lilja Molén joins Sony Ericsson as vice president of marketing for the Asia Pacific region and will be responsible for marketing and product strategy across the company's portfolio in the Asia Pacific.

He has held important sales and marketing positions in Sony Ericsson and during 2009 to 2011, he successfully managed sales operations in the Nordic and Baltic States.

"I look forward to working with Matthew to drive the region's marketing strategy by creating unique brand experiences and strengthening relationships with consumers," said Molén.
