Singapore Telecommunications Limited (SingTel) will be enhancing the SingNet eVolve and SingNet eLite corporate fibre broadband services with SingTel Business Fibre Broadband Security Suite.
Based on Fortinet's technology, the suite will provide small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Singapore with online content filtering to protect their networks. This is done by intercepting security threats and eliminating them before they reach the IT network.
As the suite is cloud-based, manual installation or downloading of software is not required. SMEs only need to select from the three pre-defined protection levels to prevent their employees from accessing harmful websites.
To further boost security, SMEs can subscribe to the Broadband Protect anti-virus and anti-spam service. As the name suggests, the service detects and prevents malicious software from corrupting or deleting data, as well as identifies potential spam emails. A report showing several metrics, such as top blocked sites which employees have attempted to access, will be sent to the company on a monthly basis.
Lee Han Kheng, vice president for Global Product at SingTel Group Enterprise, said that the suite enables SMEs to "protect their networks from internal and external threats, [thus allowing them] to embrace the Bring-Your-Own-Device [BYOD] trend."
He added that the suite is catered to SMEs with little or no IT support. "With no installation costs, or hardware or network changes required, SMEs can save time and money with the SingTel Business Fibre Broadband Security Suite to meet their cyber security needs."
