Meanwhile, MPA is looking for partners to develop the first phase of its Maritime Single Window, a single portal for the submission of all port-related documentation for port clearance. This will support its next generation port in Tuas, which will open progressively from 2021 and will be able to handle up to 65 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) per annum when fully completed, said Goh Kwong Heng, chief information officer, MPA.
Nearly two-third of ICT contracts last year went to SMEs
According to GovTech, local small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) accounted for about two-thirds of the total number of ICT contracts awarded last year.
One such SME is DC frontiers, a local tech company accredited by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA). DC Frontiers offers an artificial intelligence solution known as Handshakes, which analyses networks of connections between people and companies to give users insights into, among other things, legal ownership, conflicts of interest and possible fraud. Last year, it began working with procurement and internal audit teams in the Government to enhance and automate checks for conflict of interest.
" We will continue to work with the industry and provide them with the foundational support to build Singapore as a Smart Nation," said Poh.
