Ruckus Wireless and Shenzen Topway Video Communications (Topway Video) have teamed up to build and deploy a massive Smart Wi-Fi municipal area network (MAN) in China's fifth largest city, Shenzen.
A press statement by the Sunnyvale, California-based provider of wireless systems for mobile Internet infrastructure said the wireless deployment project is in line with the worldwide trend to build smart cities.
Topway Video will deploy Ruckus wireless solutions for MAN using Ruckus ZoneFlex smart Wi-Fi access points (APs), SmartCell Gateway (SCG), 200 WLAN controller and SmartCell Insight (SCI) intelligent analysis platform.
The APs will be deployed in the city's major retail stores, restaurants, hospitals, public transport stations, neighborhood communities, public streets and many of its public outdoor venures. At the same time, the SCG 200 WLAN controller will provide multiple streaming solutions. Concurrently, the SCI platform will help gather essential real-time analytics in the Smart Wi-Fi infrastructure.
Shenzen has a population of ove 10 million and Topway Video is that city's largest broadband service and multimedia content provider.
