Riverbed Technology Inc. has released new and updated SteelCentral network performance management (NPM) solutions, namely the NetShark and NetProfiler appliances.
According to the San Francisco-based provider of application performance infrastructure, the NPM solutions have been designed to provide CIOs visibility to applications throughout the hybrid enterprise, which can be a combination of public and private networks along with a varied mix of on-premise applications.
However, these hybrid architectures have now created challenges for CIOs who need full visibility across all networks and applications and must deliver an optimal and consistent end-user experience, said Riverbed.
Riverbed said the new enhancements to the SteelCentral solutions provide the increased storage, memory and power customers need to monitor in the expanded and increased connections of hybrid enterprises.
It said the NetShark appliances have various significant network enhancements such as larger redundant system and packet storage, more memory for higher flow export rates to NetProfiler, higher 10G port density and availability on Microsoft Hyper-V of the NetShark Virtual Edition.
On the other hand, features of the NetProfiler appliance include support for twice the number of deduplicated flows per minute (FPM) on a smaller hardware footprint, support for twice the reporting devices per flow record and 10 times the number of analytics policies.
