Risk Technology to help Singapore’s Quantum Inventions enter the usage-based insurance space

The two companies will work together to develop a solution that enables driver behaviour data to be viewed from a single platform.

Singapore's Quantum Inventions recently entered a partnership with UK's telematics firm Risk Technology.

Quantum Inventions develops navigation, routing and traffic information services, and deploys them through the devices plugged onto car dashboards.

Under the partnership, the two companies will jointly develop a solution that enables users to view a driver's behaviour from a single platform.  The driver behaviour data is collected by monitoring core parameters such as acceleration, deceleration, speed, location and time of day. This information can be used by Quantum Inventions to develop its proposition for a Usage-based Insurance (UBI) offering, or for a gamified application that encourages drivers to improve their driver score.

"Driver behaviour information will perfectly complement our existing GPS navigation and traffic information platforms," said Saurav Bhattacharyya, CEO of Quantum Inventions. "It also gives us a solid foundation to move into the UBI market as it develops in Singapore."
